Project Description

This page provides project information and updates as works progress.

The Youth and Community Hub is a major community infrastructure project that will bring youth, community, recreation and learning services together in one central, purpose-built facility.

The Hub is designed to support young people, families and the wider community by improving access to services, programs and safe spaces for connection, learning and recreation. By co-locating key facilities and services, the Hub supports a coordinated approach to service delivery and creates opportunities for increased participation, social connection and community wellbeing.

The Hub is planned to include a mix of indoor and outdoor facilities, including:

  • Community Library
  • Youth Centre
  • Community Meeting Rooms
  • Creche and Playgrounds
  • Multi-purpose Sports Court
  • Community Garden and Seed Bank

How the Project Is Being Funded

The Youth and Community Hub is being delivered through a combination of Shire investment and significant external funding support.

The project has received funding commitments from both the Australian Government and the Western Australian Government, along with grant support from Lotterywest.

Confirmed external funding includes:

  • $15 million from the Australian Government
  • $7.5 million from the Western Australian Government
  • $4.65 million from Lotterywest

Together, this represents approximately $27.15 million in external funding, enabling the Shire to deliver a larger and more comprehensive facility while ensuring local investment is focused on long-term community benefit and value for money.
